薬問屋街の道修町の南側にある、創業250年のうどんすきのお店。子供の頃うどんすきとは、すき焼きの残りにうどんを入れて煮詰めたものだと思っていた。大人になり、こちらのお店で初体験。
オフィス街のビルの谷間に、突然現れる瀟洒な和風建築。老舗の歴史を感じさせる、威風堂々とした佇まいだ。オープン時間の11時半に、予約なしで訪れた。時間がずれるなら、予約は必須だ。
そば、うどんのメニューも豊富で、天ぷらやおかずが付いた食べ放題もある。しかしここは、やはり定番のうどんすき。金属製の鍋に出汁が注がれるので、まずは出汁だけを少量掬っていただく。
うまい・・・五臓六腑に染み渡る感じ。優しくて、奥深い味わい。具材は、店員さんが手際良く投入してくれる。とても繊細に、美しく配列してくれた。テーブルの電磁調理器は、煮えるのが早い。
うどんは、柔らかい関西うどん。この出汁だと、いくらでも食べられる感じ。完全に煮えたところで、車エビを投入。活きがよくピチピチ跳ねるので、トングで力強く挟まないと逃げられてしまう。
一番最後に、煮崩れしやすい小芋と餅を投入。ふーっ、お腹いっぱい。これはビールなど飲んでしまうと、完食は難しいと思った。ごちそうさまでした。これからも大阪の歴史とともに、元気に営業して欲しい。
