【皇家 龍鳳／中之島】

足腰が悪くなった親父と妹の3人でランチ。
家業が食べ物屋さんと言う事もあったのか、今から考えるととんでもない贅沢だけど、幼い頃から豪華な食事に良く連れて行って貰っていました。
リーガロイヤルホテル大阪もそんな場所の一つ。
老人性痴呆症が進む親父の古い記憶が呼び覚ます事が出来ればと連れて行きました。

呆けてはいるけど食欲は旺盛で『ちょっと待って❗️』と言うのに、子供の様にがっついていました。
でも古い思い出話をしても、ずっと黙々と食べるばかり…。
『そうだったよね❗️』と話を振っても『知らん…。』

『ワシはお笑い芸人でも食えていた』と自ら言う位、面白い事を饒舌に喋っていた親父が、別人の様に寡黙になっていたのに胸が締め付けられそうでした。

今でこそ免許証を返納させたけど、コロナ前まで80過ぎても車で毎日あちこち外出していたのに。
事故が怖いから返納させたけど、多分間違った選択では無かった筈だけど、呆けが進行したきっかけは免許返納だったのかも…と少し辛かった。

呆ける事で周りは辛いけど、本人は徐々に意識が真っ白になって行っているとすると、焦りや苦悩や後悔、恐れと言った心の乱れが無くなって穏やかに終わりを迎えようとしているのだと思うとそれはそれで幸せな流れなのかも知れない。

そんな事をつらつら思いながらでしたが、親父の為に食べやすい様に食材を細かく切って頂いたり、薬を飲むのに冷たい水と熱い白湯を混ぜて飲みやすい温度にして提供してくれたりと、とてもホスピタリティを感じました。

ただロイヤルホテル、バリアフリーの設備が行き届いておらず、トイレは１階に１ヶ所。
中華のレストランはエレベーターを14階で降りて、更に階段に敷設された昇降機で移動するなど、車椅子から降りないといけない箇所が有りました。
予め問合せしていたし、それでも『懐かしのロイヤルホテル』を選択したから文句が有る訳では無いけど、大阪を代表する高級老舗ホテルなのにちょっと残念でした。
幼い頃に感じたゴージャスでキラキラしていたロイヤルホテルは自分と同じ様に老いさらばえたと言う事なのかな…。
寂しい限りです。

肝心の食事ですが…
注文したのは『龍鳳’s Selection 〜クラシカル〜＋フカヒレ（胸ビレ）姿煮込み』
楽しみにしていた姿煮込み、鶏ガラ白湯スープを濃縮した感じの餡と言うかスープにフカヒレが浸っています。
口の中に入れると＂どろ〜＂っとまとわり付く。
凄い濃厚なのにフカヒレと一緒に食べても何かしっくり来ない。
ちょっと期待した味では無かった。
イカの炒め物は美味しかった。大根餅と叉焼パイも良かった。
それ以外はボチボチかな…。
