Within walking distance of Nihonbashi Station ◎ Authentic Chinese Cuisine in an authentic atmosphere.
Our restaurant serves Shanghai cuisine seasoned with soy sauce and sugar. Don't worry, we also have many dishes to suit Japanese tastes! We also offer drinks that go well with Chinese Cuisine, such as |
Today I went to a Shanghai restaurant. I went in during lunchtime on a weekday. Each table is divided into a private room. The waitress handed me a lunch menu. I was confused because I wasn't interested in Ramen sets or Japanese-style Chinese food, but the waitress realized and brought me the main menu. The main menu had a wide variety of dishes, with over 140 items. I ordered 'Kaofu' (sweet and spicy gluten) because I wanted something Shanghai-like, but they said they couldn't serve 'Kaofu' or 'Souji' (chicken-style soy meat) today. What a shame. I asked the waitress for some recommended dishes, and chose steamed chicken marinated in Shaoxing wine and half-sized shepherd's purse wontons. The steamed chicken was well seasoned and quite salty. It was perfect as a snack with alcohol. I would have gotten thirsty if I had eaten it by itself, so I ordered some rice. The rice was shiny and good because there was a wide selection of Japanese dishes. It went well with the moist and juicy steamed chicken. As I was eating slowly, the piping hot wontons arrived. It's a half size, so it comes with four wontons. So delicious! The big wontons are filled with plenty of green vegetables and pork. I thought four wontons was a little small, but these wontons are quite filling. However, the shrimp wontons are small. When I finished eating, the Shanghai chef came to greet me. When he asked me, "How was the taste?" I replied, "Very good!" The lady working at the restaurant is from Fujianese. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly, the interior is clean, and the menu is extensive, including Japanese style. Next time I'd like to try drinking beer while eating broad beans.
