2023年6月のとある平日の13時過ぎに訪ねた。
西中島南方駅から徒歩3,4分ほどの場所にあるしゃぶしゃぶとすき焼き推しの居酒屋「お菜屋 わだ家 新大阪本店」。
広い店内には先客5,6名ほど。和田アキ子の歌がエンドレスでかかっているが、雰囲気的にはシックな落ち着いた店。
広いテーブル席に1人で座り、ランチメニューから「炭火焼きしゃぶととろろ飯定食」¥1,000を注文した。
7,8分ほど待って料理が提供される。
生野菜が添えられた焼きしゃぶに2種のタレ、とろろ、ご飯、豚汁、漬物、デザートの組み合わせ。
玉子の黄身が入ったおろしすき焼き風のタレと味噌ダレで焼きしゃぶを味わう。おろしすき焼き風のタレで食べる薄切り牛肉は見事な美味しさ。大根おろしの主張がそれほど強くないが、後味をサッパリさせてくれる。キャベツを肉で巻いて食べると良い塩梅。ご飯のおかずとしては抜群の美味しさ。
味噌ダレは野暮ったさはあるが、ストレートに味噌の旨味と共に肉を楽しめる良いタレ。ご飯と共に味わうには程好い。
あっという間にご飯を食べ切ってしまうので、店員さんにお替りをお願いする。
2杯目のご飯は焼きしゃぶととろろの組み合わせで楽しむ。すきやき風味のタレととろろの組み合わせで食べると抜群の美味しさ。
しば漬けもつまみつつ、豚汁もご飯に合わせて味わう。具材はそれほど多く入っていない豚汁はアッサリとした味わいでちゃんこ鍋のような味わい。野菜と豚肉の旨味にプラスしてほんのり鰹出汁が効いている。
いくらでも肉が食べられそうな定食だが枚数は限られている。焼きしゃぶとご飯、豚汁を良いバランスで食べ終わった後はデザートのぶどうゼリーと梨を楽しむ。
アイスコーヒーとホットコーヒーがセルフで飲み放題なのも嬉しいサービス。
それほど混んでいない広々とした空間で、ご飯のお替りが出来る定食を食べてコーヒーでまったりと和むことが出来る「わだ家」。音楽のチョイスは仕方ないと割り切れば使い勝手の良い店ではあると思う。ランチメニューのバリエーションをもっと増やしてもらえると更に使いやすい店になると思う。
