Please enjoy a special time in our 100-year-old storehouse!
"Motsu-nabe (Offal hotpot)" was created by renovating a 90-year-old storehouse. This restaurant is not a hideaway, but a hidden storehouse. When you enter the storehouse following the lanterns peeking |
Although the rainy season hasn't ended yet, it's getting hotter. I'm more of a shaved ice fan than Ice cream so I go to the supermarket or Convenience stores and eat shaved ice. I go all over the place in search of delicious shaved ice, but this time I went to a restaurant called "Eiraku" in Izumiotsu. I found out from the free booklet ``Senshu Bijin'' that it is a restaurant that sells Motsu-nabe (Offal hotpot). "Oh, the hot pot shop is making shaved ice...why?" The ultimate shaved ice that took a lot of effort! The booklet said: There's no way I wouldn't be interested (lol) There is space for about a dozen cars in the free parking lot, and this seems to be a shared space with au, Y-Mobile, and a beauty salon. The location is a bit difficult to find, but as you pass through the gap between Y-Mobile and the beauty salon, you will find an old warehouse, and that is Eiraku. It's said to have been built 95 years ago, so it's probably from the late Taisho era to the early Showa era... The inside of the store uses incandescent lights, so it's a little dark, but it adds to the retro atmosphere. There are 6 types: Anno sweet potato, matcha, apricot kernel, rich chocolate, banana milk, and kiwi milk. Prices vary: Anno sweet potato is 950 yen, matcha and rich chocolate are 900 yen, apricot kernels are 850 yen, and banana milk and kiwi milk are 800 yen. When I asked the staff at the shop what they recommended, they said Anno sweet potato, but I tried the kiwi milk, which was what I was most interested in (then don't ask...). The shaved ice that came to me was not as big as I had imagined, but about the size that is served at Coffee shops. It's pretty normal size. A real kiwi is served on top of the ice, and next to it is a separate glass of kiwi sauce. The sauce also contains lots of kiwi fruit. This probably contains about 1 or 2 kiwis... When you pour that kiwi sauce over ice, it's so full of kiwis...it's irresistible for kiwi lovers! When I tried it...it was delicious! The milk ice cream topped with homemade syrup wasn't as sweet or bitter as I expected. And the sourness of the kiwi brings out the flavor even more. Completed the meal in no time. But it's not enough...I can't go home satisfied with this. Shall I ask you for another one? When I asked the store clerk again what he recommended, he was sure to recommend Anno imo. By the way, are you going to recommend the most expensive one? It certainly looks better in photos than kiwi milk, so I ordered it. A rich Anno sweet potato sauce is poured over the ice. I will try the second cup immediately. ...Yeah, it tastes like a potato (lol) I'm sure it tastes good, but it tasted as good as I could imagine. The small plate with salted kelp is a high score. My wife ordered the rich chocolate, and this photo looks great too. I took a bite and it was literally covered in rich chocolate sauce. However, it has a bitter taste and is not at all bitter. There are dried fruits in the ice, but are they oranges? grapefruit? It was citrusy. No matter which shaved ice I ate, I was impressed by the light sweetness and the good aftertaste. Well, the shaved ice was delicious. Gochisama!
