I visited "THE KING GEOGE English Pub" at the east exit of Omiya Station for a weekday lunch. The restaurant is a semi-basement type that can be seen from the road, so it's not conspicuous, but I was able to enjoy a delicious lunch with good value for money. The lunch peak has passed and the interior has calmed down. I ordered the curry rice set (with salad, soup, and coffee) from the standard lunch menu for only 700 yen❗️ I added "crab cream Croquette" (300 yen) from the several topping menus. My partner ordered the lasagna set (standard set + bread) from the spot menu for 1,000 yen. The curry rice is rich in Guinness beer, which is the secret ingredient in the roux, and the bitterness of hops is also effective. Croquette and roux go well together. The lasagna is also colorful and looks delicious. Fried chicken is included as a side dish. The set salad was voluminous, and with coffee after the meal, it was a very satisfying lunch. By the way, the "George" in the restaurant's name is not a king, but a real person who existed in the present world. It was founded by George, who became friends with the owner when he visited Japan and got along well with him. He is a surprisingly young man, and it seems he has now returned to the UK.
