Enjoy the delicious soba noodles in a stylish, homey atmosphere.
Located a 3-minute walk from Saitama-Shintoshin Station, Soba Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) and Fresh Hoppy Shop Shintoshin Jiruya serves delicious 100% buckwheat soba noodles, carefully prepared for e |
If you walk along the tracks on the east side of JR Saitama-Shintoshin Station towards Yono for about 5 minutes, you will see this shop on your right. I knew it was a 100% buckwheat soba shop, but when I went there, I saw that it said "One dish challenge! Stone pot Curry Udon for 880 yen with rice." I was in a soba mood, but with a one dish challenge, there is no choice, so I decided to visit. The entrance to the shop is a little unusual, and you turn right from the entrance of a yakitori restaurant. There is no one there, so if it's your first time, you might think they are out and about, but if you go further in, you will find a piano and guitar, a table seating area, and a terrace. When it's sunny and the weather is nice, the terrace might be nice. Since the terrace is outside, smoking is allowed. Water is self-service. I thought there would be customers, but I was the only one there, so I ordered curry udon from the owner, who seemed like he should be called the master. It took about six minutes. I didn't wait that long. Curry Udon came out, boiling away. It was placed on the portable stove stand. The chopsticks were made from hollowed-out beer cans. I was given some sauce and started eating. There were shimeji mushrooms, green onions, fried tofu, and really thick udon noodles. Very thick. It looked pretty good. The udon noodles were thick and fluffy, and easy to tear apart - an unusual dish. The spicy curry soup made an impact, so it's sure to be a topic of conversation. I'd like to try this place sometime, maybe with a friend. Thank you for the meal~
