Cafe & Roaster Strange Fruit is located a short walk from the north exit of JR Kitayono Station in Chuo Ward, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture. I visited Cafe & Roaster Strange Fruit for the first time on Friday, April 21, 2023. The structure of the restaurant is that the first floor is a smoking area with counter seats and table seats, and the second floor up the outside stairs is a non-smoking area with table seats and sofa seats. After disinfecting with alcohol at the entrance, I took a seat at a table on the second floor. The customer base was a wide range of men and women of all ages, but the majority were women. Western music was playing in the store, and a large silent TV was on. The friendly customer service from the staff is also good. I used the call bell to call the person at the shop on the first floor and placed my order. Cold water is self service. After the meal, I took the bill and paid the bill on the first floor. I ate a cutlet sandwich. It comes with soup and salad bar for 1000 yen including tax. The salad consisted of shredded cabbage, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, corn, radish, etc. and two types of dressing. The cutlet sandwich consists of pork cutlet, shredded cabbage, and tartar sauce. The tonkatsu has a crispy coating, is thick and filling, and has melting fat. The bread was beautifully browned, fluffy and fragrant. The soup had corn in it and was light. Delicious.
