大宮で夕食を食べる機会があり、1番食べログの点数の高い順に並んでたらこのお店が先頭に出てきました。埼玉県全体でも鮨でNo.2の高得点、鮨百名店でブロンズにもなっています。
お店は古い雑居ビルの2階にあり、入口では躊躇…というか不安になりますが、店内は綺麗にリノベーションされており、とても快適で安心しました。
メニューはコースのみ。まず焼物や牡蠣の御椀から始まりますが、これがびっくりするくらい美味しい!
そして待望のお鮨が始まります。赤酢で穏やか旨味を感じさせるシャリ、ネタはどれもひと手間加えた深みのある味わい。
よく鮨は北海道が一番とか、いやいや美味しいネタは全部東京に集まって来るので築地だ、銀座だ言いますが、海のない埼玉でこんなに美味しいお鮨が食べられて感動。特に穴子が絶品でした。
日本酒を頼むとグラスを選びたい放題。オールドバカラなど大将こだわりのグラスで、かなり旨い日本酒を頂くことも出来ます。
大将は、最初は寡黙に仕事をしていましたが、いったん火が付くとお話が止まりません。愉しい時間を過ごすことができました。
ここはとても良いお店だと思います。大宮に来ることは少ないけれど、また来る機会があったら絶対に寄ろうかな。
