Soba-ya Haruna is a soba restaurant in Nishi-Urawa. It is located along the Nishi-Urawa Station rotary, and is conveniently located just a minute's walk from the station. Lunch menu items include a bowl and bamboo steamer set, or soba noodles alone. They also focus on fried chicken, and offer the "Best Fried Chicken Bento (boxed lunch) of My Life" for takeaway. The reason I went was to try the recently released "Katsuage Soba." It's an impressive menu item with a large 300g piece of fried chicken. It seems that you can order it even if it's not on the menu, but unfortunately there was no special meat on this day. It's a very eye-catching menu item, so if you're here for this, it might be a good idea to call and check. "Salad Mixed Soba Katsuage" 1,480 yen This is a new product for this summer. It's packed with two types of fried chicken, myoga, green Tempura, natto, and okra tempura, and is just as eye-catching. The recommended fried chicken is breast and thigh. Both have a very thin batter and are crispy. The light breast is not dry and is crispy. The fried chicken here is of a high standard, including the juicy thighs. The chopped okra Tempura is also freshly fried and good. You can look forward to the a la carte dishes in the evening. The soba noodles are firm and chewy. When you mix all the ingredients together, the okra and spring onions have a nice crunch. The addition of vinegar to the soba soup is a nice accent. The unusual combination of soba noodles and fried chicken is unique, and the appearance and taste were refreshing.
