1875年(明治8年)に旧中山道沿いで創業し、 |
曇り空から時おり雨粒が落ちてくる水曜日、社用のためさいたま市内を訪ね歩いています。この日は仕事がスムーズに運び、なんと15時過ぎには全ての予定が終了。せっかくなので浦和駅前の商業施設で休憩してからオフィスに戻ることにしました。
■『ときわだんご』-750円-
米粉を使った昔ながらの糸切りだんご。たっぷりのきな粉がかけられた白だんごと、こし餡を上から押しつけられた白だんごとよもぎだんごが盛り合わせてあり、そのビジュアルはなかなかの迫力です。
白だんごはモチッとした食感と素朴な味わいを有し、よもぎだんごは弾力こそ白だんごに譲りますが特有の爽やかな風味がたまりません。香ばしいきな粉と頂くのも良いですが、絶妙な塩気によって品の良い甘さがもたらされているこし餡はより私好みの美味しさで、いずれのだんごとも相性は抜群。あっという間に完食してしまいました。
浦和では古くから広く知られるこちらのお店。そのルーツは1875年の創業に遡るとのことです。前述しただんごは作ってから時間が経過するにつれて硬くなってしまうので、イートインのスタイルで頂くのがやはり美味しく「正解」と呼べそうですね。美味しいだんご、ごちそうさまでした。
