JR北浦和駅西口から徒歩2分ほどの元祖やきとり串八珍 北浦和店は炭火焼き鳥が自慢の居酒屋。運営は炭火焼き鳥 串八珍、元祖やきとり串八珍、魚八&串八珍、鮨乃家、魚八、XI’AN、葉ﾟす多家などのブランドを擁す豊創フーズ(株)。
平日の19時頃に伺うと｢炭火焼き鳥 昭和五十四年創業 元祖やきとり串八珍 埼玉北浦和｣と書かれた自光式看板が眩しい。入口の右側には｢晩酌セット｣のPOPがあり、ご丁寧にスポットライトまで当てられている。期間限定で1,230円→999円というお得な感じで、これに惹かれて店に入る。カウンター6席、テーブル18席、立飲コーナー4席の店内は空いている印象で、何となく晩酌セットは税別でお通しが別に付くという予感。
消費者庁の景品表示法では
｢晩酌セットの品質や価格について、実際よりも著しく優良又は有利であると見せかける表示が行われ、消費者の適正な商品選択を妨げるなど、景品表示法では消費者に誤認される不当な表示を禁止している(要略)｣とある。さてどうなることやら…
1名と告げるとカウンター席に案内してくれる。その刹那、大根おろしが提供される。

ドリンク一杯、やきとん串2本(カシラ・ハラミ)、モツ煮込み、味わい酢キャベツ、選べる一品(枝豆・おつまみチーズ・鶏ハムから)
スマホで撮った晩酌セットの看板を見ると小さく税別と書かれていて可笑しい。お酒は先日、検診結果を聞きに行った際に医師から尿酸7.5mg/dl(基準値2.1～7.0)を指摘されたのでハイボールチョイス。氷が多くて薄いヤツで満足度はイマイチ。キャベツはしんなりとした柔らかいものでお代わりOKとかだと嬉しいが、そうではない模様。鶏ハムは2枚、煮込みはけんちん汁風、カシラ・ハラミは1本100円くらいの内容。困ったのは大根おろしで、最後に少し醤油をかけていただいた。ハイボールを飲み干してごちそうさま。会計は1,318円。
いわゆる老舗大衆居酒屋の劣化コピーチェーン居酒屋ですな。
