[99th cup of 2022] I came to Shimada Holmes Soka Toneri store to buy a storage box. It was lunchtime, so there was a long line, but I arrived at the serving lane in about 5 minutes. This time, I ordered Kake Udon (cold) - Special. After that, I picked up Kashiwa Ten and Chikuwa Ten by myself. Since you can put in as much green onion as you want, I piled a lot on a separate plate. This system is great for green onion lovers. If you put in too much tempura flakes, it will just become oily, so I refrained from doing so. I used to only eat "bukkake", but recently I've been eating "kake" to enjoy the broth, and this time it was hot so I chose "cold". When it's "cold", the Tempura batter and tempura flakes don't get soggy, and you can enjoy the crispy texture until the end. I decided to eat "cold" when it's hot. The chewy udon noodles are still as delicious as ever. The portions are generous even at the bargain price. Tempura is excellent, being in the 100 yen range for its size and flavor. The chicken tempura is extra large and very filling. The cost performance, speed, and flavor are all excellent for a chain restaurant.
