It was lunchtime on a weekday. There are several Chinese restaurants in the area, but I visited this one that I hadn't been to yet. When I arrived after 12 o'clock, there were a few customers in the restaurant, but it was quite spacious, and the staff said that I could sit anywhere. I think it was just a matter of timing, but the customers before and after me were all men. I sat at a table seat for four and helped myself to the cold water on the table. The lunch menu written outside was as follows, all 600 yen. 1. Gomoku Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) 2. Sichuan-style stir-fried chicken 3. Eight Treasures 4. Pork, cabbage and egg stir-fry 5. Twice-cooked pork bowl and half Ramen 6. Fukuen Ramen and half a bowl of fried rice 7. Shio Ramen and half a bowl of fried rice The customer next to me must be a regular customer, as he called out to the staff as soon as he entered the restaurant, "Number 4, right?" I had decided on Sichuan-style stir-fried chicken, so I asked the staff for "Number 2." The waiter in the hall and the kitchen were communicating in Chinese, so I was expecting to eat authentic Chinese Cuisine, but the food arrived in just about 3 minutes. It was too fast. The main dish of Sichuan-style fried chicken was served with miso soup with fried tofu, salad, side dishes, and dessert, but the Sichuan-style fried chicken was the most filling. The rice was also a large portion. All this for 600 yen? What's more, there was a rice cooker in front of my seat, and all the customers were asking for more rice. The rice is also self-service, which is amazing. The Sichuan-style fried chicken had lots of bite-sized pieces of chicken and lots of vegetables such as onions, green peppers, and carrots. The peanuts were a nice side dish because you could enjoy the texture. It was said to be Sichuan-style, but it was just a little spicy, which is suitable for Japanese people. For me, the spiciness was just right and made the rice go down well. It's a shame that the miso soup was lukewarm and bland. In this case, Chinese soup might be better. The rice was a huge portion so I didn't ask for a second helping, but I was full and it was a great meal. I'm happy with the price of 600 yen.
