On this last day of work, I was working in the morning, but was told that I could leave in the afternoon as soon as my work was finished, so I was grateful to be able to go home early in the afternoon. I decided to have a drink during the day, so I looked for a place in Minami Koshigaya, where I had to transfer. There aren't many places you can drink from lunchtime on weekdays, so I decided to have lunch with a beer. I was shown to a table and ordered the daily set meal for 800 yen and a medium-sized bottle of beer for 690 yen. The daily set meal for that day was fried horse mackerel and amberjack sashimi, which was the perfect accompaniment to beer. By the way, with the daily set meal, you can get a free extra large serving of rice and free refills of miso soup, although I didn't use either of them. 10 minutes had passed and the beer still hadn't come, so I asked for one. The beer that had been left on the counter was mine. The set meal arrived shortly thereafter. I wonder if they were planning to serve it with the set meal? If so, I wish they had taken it out of the fridge just before. The set meal consisted of one fried horse mackerel, three slices of amberjack sashimi, rice and miso soup. The fried horse mackerel came with sauce and mayonnaise, and there was no option to add soy sauce. The garnish for the sashimi is purple onion, not radish. The sashimi is very fatty! It has a firm texture and is not badly fresh. I poured the leftover soy sauce for the sashimi over the fried horse mackerel. When I ate it, it was very oily, just like the sashimi. I wish this one was oily, not greasy. It's a shame because the meat is soft and flavorful. The fried food was a little sweet, but the beer and set meal cost 1,490 yen. It's a reasonable price for a solo celebration at the end of the workday.
