川越に行った際に、時の鐘のすぐそばにある近江屋長兵衛商店に入り、看板商品の一つである「おぼろ豆腐ご飯」を食べました。
ご飯に豆腐のあんかけがかかったものと豚汁、さつま芋煮のセットで、一見すると物足りなそうに見えるのですが、豆腐だけでも満腹になるし、豚汁も具がてんこ盛りだったりでボリュームには文句ないし、豆腐のあんかけは見た感じシンプルながら豆腐自体の味を存分に楽しめるというのもいいですね。
そして鐘の音が聞こえてから気付いたのですがちょうど12時で、時の鐘が鳴らされる時間で、食べながらではあるけど間近で鐘の音を聞くこととなりました。
