冷めても美味しい団子が食べたくなった。焙りたての熱々を店内で食べる人が多いが、持ち帰って冷めたお団子をゆっくり味わうと、粉の甘みと芳醇な醤油の香りが際立って実に美味い。夏の夕涼み、冷めた団子と冷やした純米酒、是非お試しあれ。ところで、何時から１本80円になったのだろう？

炭火焼きだんご１本¥８０−
川越焼きだんごの西の横綱が「松山商店」なら、東の横綱は鐘突堂下の「田中屋」。創業文久元年の暖簾を掲げ、相変わらず「焼きだんご」一本で営業中。いつの間にか左隣にはユニークな駄菓子で人気の店舗がオープンしているが、「田中屋」はマイペースで変わらぬ焼きだんごの味わいを提供中。もちろん、その場で食べても、家に帰って温め直しても抜群の味わい。平べったい醤油味の炭火焼きだんごを口に運べば、180年前にタイムスリップして文久年間の味を噛み締めることができる。1串80円のタイムマシンが此処にある。
