川越でランチ。その日は少し蒸し暑かったので、タイ料理でもいただこうかなと思い、この店に向かいました。
アドフェストという広告祭が毎年３月にタイのパタヤという観光地で開催され、
若手の研修も兼ねて毎年のようにタイに通っていたころが懐かしくて、時々タイ料理が食べたくなります。
この店はエントランスからしてタイのリゾート気分を掻き立てられます。
階段のそばにはタイの民族衣装をまとった人形が出迎えてくれます。
二階にある店の大きな窓にはびっしりとさくら貝の飾り物が掛けられていたり、
コップやフォーク、スプーンがペラペラのブリキ製だったりと、タイ気分が盛り上がります。
いただいたのは定番のガパオライス。ほどよい辛さが優しい。
バンコクにあるルンビニ公園の屋台村などでは、びっくりするほど辛いところもありますが、
こちらは辛さ控えめなので味わい深いです。
目玉焼きではなく本場風揚げ卵がご飯に乗っているのがうれしい。
ランチには根菜たっぷりの優しい味わいのスープ、サラダ、タピオカのデザート、
さして好みの飲み物もついています。僕はアイスティーを所望しました。
これで1,000円未満に収まるのはコスパは最高ですね。
