At the cheerful invitation, I went to Kawagoe. This is a private-room Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) I found heading towards Hon-Kawagoe Station from Claire Mall to go home after a drink. A private room is safe during the coronavirus pandemic. The window seat seemed particularly nice as it seemed to have a sense of openness. We relaxed in the spacious seats in the back. It's quite a big box, but the food was delivered in a timely manner and the drinks came out quickly, making it stress-free. The toast is Asahi Super Dry, and it's very cold. The appetizer is bean sprouts namul in a pot, and there's a lot of it, so you'll have to eat it. Among the many things I ordered, here are some that I remember. Assorted sashimi. It's quite filling, fresh, and plump.I like octopus, so I'm happy to have it cut into chunks. The shime mackerel was also a good seasoning. Tempura platter was full of volume with two large shrimp and maitake mushrooms.The tempura sauce was a little too salty for me, but I received plenty of grated daikon radish. Everything tasted great, including the shishamo-yaki and the softly grilled omelet, and the spicy squid mentai went well with the sake. I opted for grilled Onigiri, but they were hot, flavorful, and delicious. It was nice to be able to eat at a large table as they quickly lowered empty plates and glasses. Another good point is that it's close to the station, so it's easy to return home.
