休日の夜に伺いました。場所は、熊谷駅北口ロータリーから国道17号（中山道）に向け駅前通りを進み、1つ目の交差点左際。
今日の1軒目は17時前から営業しているこちら。入店するため扉を押しても引いても開きません。店内からスタッフが現れて、横に開けてくれます。開ける向きを示しておいてくれるとありがたいが、これもコミュニケーションの一つか。
人数を告げると、L字カウンターにどうぞと。駅前通りを背後にする席に着きます。
まずは飲み物。ご当地の熊谷宿ビール770円。熊谷は江戸から数えて中山道8番目の宿場。店内のPOPに拠ると100％熊谷産とのこと。軽く甘みがあります。
お通しは2種類から選べます。ちなみに、店頭看板にはお通しについてのコメントがあります。混雑が予想される日は、料理の提供が遅くなるので選べるお通し330円（赤貝とタコの酢の物）を提供するとのこと。今日は祝日ですから該当日と言うことでしょう。早い時間帯なので料理提供が遅くはなかったがやむを得ないだろう。何でも、手羽と大根の煮物か赤貝とタコの酢の物から選べと。もちろん後者です。なかなか凝ったお通しです。
アテは、温やっこ308円と、冷やしきゅうり（梅）308円。まず、きゅうりから提供。氷が散らばっています。小さいことですが、見た目も涼しげで嬉しい。さすが熊谷！ 温やっこも珍しい。木綿豆腐で出汁が張ってあります。これは美味しい。
ジムビームハイボール308円をいただいてお暇です。
お勘定と伝えると、味噌汁はいかがですかと。辞退したが、こういうところも嬉しいですね。
スタッフは若いがしっかりとしています。今日のお客はグループが多く、ホール席は騒がしかったが、カウンター席は静かに過ごすことができました。
気遣いを感じられるお店です。
