草津駅から中山道へ出て、本陣方向へ歩き、草津川のトンネルより手前にあるのが、いずみやです。カウンターとテーブル数席のこじんまりとしたお店。近所のお年寄りやサラリーマンなどでお昼時はいっぱい。店内は、子ども時代に行ったお店を彷彿とさせる「昔こんな店あったなあ」という感じで、好きです。常連さんだけでなく、私のような新参者にもやさしく接してくれる腰の低い御夫婦が営んでおられます。おしぼりが何ともレトロ。
豚生姜焼き定食(680円？)・・・お勧めメニューらしいので注文。さほど生姜が主張していないにも関わらず、甘辛いタレが豚肉と玉ねぎに絡んで美味い。ご飯がどんどん進みます。赤だしも美味しいですし、サラダのトマトが厚切りなのもうれしいです。
駅前のお店と比べると駅から少しだけ歩きますが、味、値段ともその価値はあるお店だと思います(中華そばが480円！)。これからもがんばって欲しいお店でした。ごちそうさまでした！
