Restaurant highlights |
A nostalgic retro Cafeterias.
A 15-minute walk from JR Minami-Kusatsu Station, this Cafeterias is located in a student town, one block off National Route 1. The restaurant's name comes from the owner's desire to have customers eat |
This is my first visit. I decided to go there because it was opening time when I left home. It seems to be quite famous among Shiga people, and it's a hearty Cafeterias. I made a sharp left turn from a road with cars, and suddenly I entered a residential area and walked down a narrow road to find the restaurant on my left. The parking lot was a parking lot for an apartment building across the street from the restaurant, and there were 5 parking spaces. It was really just after opening, and we were the only customers. It's a restaurant that feels like an old house. There's a shelf of manga behind the counter, and it feels like the good old days. We ordered: Half pork set meal (pork steak with wasabi and garlic) 1,150 yen Fried oyster set (3 fried oysters + pork steak with wasabi) 1,100 yen Most of the set meals are basically grilled or fried. The specialty pork steak is perfectly grilled and is so hard that you can bite it off with your teeth. The garlic was definitely delicious, and the wasabi soy sauce was delicious, with the sweetness of the fat on the edge of the pork offset by the wasabi. I felt that the main side dishes were a little small, but the rice was free to refill. The fried oysters were also very delicious, with an exquisite tartar sauce. Thank you for the meal.
