ＪＲ草津駅から徒歩２分のところにある当店。駐車場なし。この日は高校時代の同級生と。店に近づくと大きな『きばり屋』の看板が見えてきて、看板の下の１階入り口から入りそうになるが、それは他店。店はその建物の２階にある。玄関で靴を脱ぎ、コートを預けて、店内へ。店内は焼き場を囲むようにカウンター席があり、その外側にテーブル席が並ぶ。お一人で焼いておられるので、それほど多くの人数を一度に捌けない。最大で３０人程度の規模のお店。この日は、近江軍鶏すき一人前１５００円のみ予約で、あとは単品注文。鍋の他に、ももみ２２０円、こころ１６０円、名物手羽唐大７８０円などを注文。山形県の地酒で超辛口くどき上手ばくれんをいただきながら、それら鶏料理を食した。鶏すきは、量は多くないが、鶏好きなら誰もが喜ぶであろう代物。つけ溶き卵の鮮烈なオレンジ色が食欲を掻き立てる。鶏肉は弾力に富み、口の中にジワっと広がる鶏の旨味は、言うことがない。串物もどれも新鮮で、粒が大きく、食べ応えがある。名物手羽唐も甘辛いタレが手羽先に馴染んで旨い。最終的に一人あたり２８００円いかないくらいの支払い。コスパも悪くない。それにしても鶏すきは美味かったなぁ。また、是非寄らせもらいたいと思う。
