I've always wanted to visit this restaurant. I called two days before. Luckily, I was able to make a reservation at the exact time I wanted. When I was asked about food items you do not like like, I answered, "My companion doesn't like marbled meat." "We don't use meat at all." Of course I did. It's right next to Kusatsujuku Honjin. That said, it's a little way to the southeast from the old Tokaido road, so it's quite hard to find. I arrived at 6:30 p.m., right on schedule. I sat at the counter and started at the same time as the previous customer. ★Summer vegetables with jelly sauce ★Peas and potatoes in a sweet potato sauce ★Five Small dish ・Hamo with plum sauce (Awaji) ・Natural sea bream with kombu (Akashi) ・Swordfish squid (Yobuko), raw sea urchin (Rausu) ・Seared grunt (Nagasaki) ・Seared mackerel (Goto Islands) ★Sweetfish from Lake Biwa, asparagus from Koga ★Bottarga roe ★Small pot ★Rice, pickles, eggs ⭐️Two types of liquid All the dishes with dashi are delicious! The highlight is the "five Small dish." We ordered carefully selected ingredients from all over the country and enjoyed the dishes that made the most of them. What surprised us even more was the deliciousness of the rice itself and the egg on rice. The rice produced by a certain producer in Shiga Prefecture is in a class of its own. The eggs are from Oita. We will choose a sake that matches the dish and the season. ☆Oshinshu Summer Smooth Junmai Ginjo〈Nagano〉 ☆Fukucho Dry Junmai Summer Imada Sake Brewery〈Hiroshima〉 This is a wonderful restaurant, not only for the food but also for the conversation with the owner at the counter. I would like to visit again in a different season.
