I've been interested in this restaurant for a while, and I've heard that it's the best French cuisine restaurant in Shiga. I visited this time on a small anniversary. They only take reservations for two groups per day for dinner, and at different times. I wondered if I could make a reservation at such a restaurant, but luckily there was an opening on the desired date. The interior has a slightly cluttered atmosphere, but it feels like a private home with a particular attention to decor. We were the only customers today, so dinner began relatively quietly. We started with selection bubbly wine. The amuse-bouche was octopus, fish, and caviar. You can feel the quality of the ingredients. The bread served with it was topped with liver paste. Next to it was fermented butter. I dipped the bread in the butter, which had a cream cheese flavor, and ate it all. The bread is homemade, by the way, and the chewy dough was very appealing. The baked dish was served with foie gras and fig sauce. The figs are very delicious when baked, and the taste of the foie gras changes when you eat it with sauce. Since it was a seafood dish, I chose white wine, whose refreshing taste went well with the dish. Marinated surf clams. The shellfish were chewy and the color was also enjoyable. Grilled lobster with sea urchin and ratatouille. The lobster had a deep flavor and was very delicious. The ratatouille that came with it was also delicious with a slight turmeric flavor. Before I knew it, I had had a second serving of white wine ^^; Next was the main course, so I changed to red wine. The main course was Hungarian duck, which was rich and delicious. Finally, dessert. Jelly with lemon peel? Freshly baked financiers, truffle chocolate, coffee. Everything was delicious, but the truffle chocolate dessert was exquisite. It seems to be popular, as they also sold just the truffle chocolate. It would be very appreciated if it was used as a gift. I was able to enjoy very high-quality food in a relaxed and comfortable space. It was like having someone come to your house to cook for you. I felt that relaxed.
