彦根駅西口からすぐ近くにある、近江牛、鮒すし、小鮎佃煮など、様々な滋賀名物が楽しめる、観光客にも人気のお店。
店頭の看板には「創業百年」と書いてありました。
テレビ番組「ZIP!」の「うまいもんジャーニー」にも取り上げられたようです。
今回の目当ては名物赤こんにゃくと近江牛の牛すじが乗った「ひこね丼」。
