ＪＲ長浜駅から徒歩１０分ほどのところにある当店。駐車場なし。当店は創業１９１２年の老舗。長浜名物のっぺいうどんで有名。のっぺいうどんは、でっかい干し椎茸ととろみのある出汁が特徴のおうどん。店の外観は歴史を感じる店構え。店内も趣きがあっていい雰囲気。壁にかけられた昔のメニュー表がいい味を出している。観光客に人気。建物は縦長の造りで、１階はテーブル席と小上がり。２階は大広間になっているようだ。１階の一番奥の囲炉裏の席に案内してもらった。注文したのは、のっぺいうどん１１００円税込。あと、焼き鯖寿し７貫１１００円税込、ビワマス刺身７５０円税込をシェア。のっぺいうどんは、蓋のついた大きな器で登場。大きな干し椎茸はインパクト大。とろみのある出汁は、出汁の効いた優しいお味。値段は観光地値段だが、うどんの味は評判通り旨い。焼き鯖寿しとビワマスは可もなく不可もなくといったところ。しかし、どこか郷愁を誘う。またお邪魔したくなるようなお店だ。
