A beloved Gyoza / Dumpling restaurant in Hamamatsu (10 parking spaces available)
A famous restaurant from Hamamatsu has arrived in Shizuoka. Anyone can come here, from individuals to families. We also offer takeaway fried and frozen Gyoza / Dumpling Gyoza / Dumpling, so please fee |
I've been here a few times, but this is my first review. I've been to the Hamamatsu store many times. ●Location and crowds First of all, it's difficult to get there without a car. The parking lot faces a busy two-lane road, so when parking, you need the skill and courage to read the timing, and the driving skills to be able to park quickly in one go. Try to time the timing when the traffic calms down due to the traffic lights. When I visited on a Saturday before 6pm, all the tables were full, so I sat at the counter. There are always people coming in for takeaway, so it's very popular. ●Items and taste Please refer to the photo for the menu. When I go to Fukumitsu, I always order only Gyoza / Dumpling (no set meal) because I want to fully enjoy Gyoza / Dumpling. This time I ordered 15 pieces. The number of pieces ranges from 10 or more to a maximum of 30 pieces in increments of 5. The side dishes are also delicious, so I also ordered a half bowl of fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce. It takes about 10 minutes to cook, so I waited leisurely and then arrived. Gyoza / Dumpling at this restaurant are characterized by their thick, chewy skin, vegetable-rich filling with a strong aroma of aromatic vegetables, and a perfect combination with the sauce made from chili oil soaked in powdered chili peppers, vinegar, and soy sauce, which can be made to your liking. They use a lot of oil to cook the gyoza, but the skin doesn't feel fried at all. It's well-cooked but not oily, and the moist, chewy skin is still intact, with a crispy crust, so the quality of the skin and cooking is extremely high. It's hard to recommend to people who like their fillings to be packed with meat, but Fukumitsu's is lighter with more vegetables. It's not overflowing with meat juice, but you can taste the juicy juice that comes from the vegetables, not the oil, and it soaks into the skin, which is also delicious. The balance with the flavor of the meat is very good, so you can eat it crispy without it being heavy. I would seriously recommend filling up on Gyoza / Dumpling alone rather than a set meal...! I forgot to take a photo of the yakitori, but it was seasoned chicken thighs with a thin potato starch coating, deep-fried, and topped with a sweet and salty sauce and aromatic vegetables. It was not oily at all, and the crispy texture of the fried chicken and the vinegar-like sauce made it refreshing. It was really delicious. My companion said, "Deep-fried chicken made with a thin layer of potato starch is the best..." I understand. ● Other things Hamamatsu is famous for Gyoza / Dumpling, so many restaurants offer it, but I personally really like Gyoza / Dumpling Gyoza / Dumpling this restaurant (although I don't know what the definition of Hamamatsu Gyoza / Dumpling is). The skin is delicious, and the Gyoza / Dumpling is well-balanced and delicious on its own, and I would also recommend it because it is recommended by people who usually avoid Chinese food and greasy food due to their weak stomachs. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with many handcrafted items and imitation greenery, which may be the owner's family's hobby, and has a very cute, refreshing and clean atmosphere. It doesn't have the same stuffy feel as other Chinese Cuisine. I recommend it for that reason as well.
