I went to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine for the first visit of the year. First, we went to have lunch at my wife's request, to "Sangria Kuno Branch". It is a famous Spanish Cuisine restaurant founded in 1975, with two branches in Shizuoka City, one in Numazu City, and one in Aoyama, Tokyo. It is on the first floor of a white hotel (now closed) and has a parking lot for 70 cars, both under the hotel and in front across the street. There are 68 tables inside the restaurant (according to basic information). The ocean view offers a panoramic view of the blue waters of Suruga Bay. The European-style furniture and interior are also eye-catching. I ordered "Spanish Carrot Salad" (748 yen). It is characterized by carrots cut into strips like pasta. The wine vinegar makes it refreshing. There is a slight garlic aroma. "Shrimp Catalan" (1,518 yen) and "Bread" (363 yen) These dishes are delicious. I heard this from an acquaintance, so I went there because I wanted to eat it (my wife said). The shrimp itself was plump and delicious, but the sauce was the best! The shrimp flavor was super rich. We soaked it well with bread and ate it all. "Mixed Seafood Paella" 3,300 yen (2 servings) Served in a large iron paella pot. It is filled with plenty of seafood such as mussels, scallops, and white fish. The seafood flavor is thoroughly soaked into the rice. The rice is perfectly cooked, with just a slight core, and the crust on the bottom of the pot is fragrant and delicious. "Sangria" opened when I was a child. The white-walled building seemed fantastical at the time, and I thought that someday when I grew up... but I was finally able to visit it now that I'm middle-aged. The view of Suruga Bay from the exotic interior is spectacular. This is an authentic Spanish Cuisine restaurant where you can eat in such an atmosphere. The surprisingly reasonable price range is also attractive. Thank you for the meal.
