Gyukaku @ Hamamatsu After work in Hamamatsu, I first took a bus back to Hamamatsu Station. Today, I had my eye on a restaurant for a while. It was Gyukaku. Of course, they have one in Shizuoka City, but this time I decided to have Yakiniku (Grilled meat) in Hamamatsu. I arrived at Gyukaku in Hamamatsu Mall a little after 5pm. They were holding a really attractive sale. This was it. The "Yakiniku (Grilled meat) set meal with all-you-can-drink" was 980 yen excluding tax. I had no choice but to go in. First, I went into the restaurant, but I was relieved that it wasn't very crowded. When I told them I was alone, they showed me to a counter seat. There seemed to be three types of Yakiniku (Grilled meat) set meals, but I chose the cheapest one, the "white mix" for 980 yen, without hesitation. This was a set meal with Yakiniku (Grilled meat) centered on horumon, two Small dish, and all-you-can-eat rice. But that's not important. The main thing is the "all-you-can-drink" that comes with it. These days, 980 yen for just this all-you-can-drink is a good deal. The problem is this "mini snack", but I have no idea what it is. There's no point in hesitating, so I chose "Chinese chive kimchi" and "pounded cucumber" from among them. Then, as for rice, I chose a small bowl of rice. I ordered all at once and waited for it to come out. There are various drinks for the all-you-can-drink option, including highballs, but I'll start with a highball. The waiter brought some lit charcoal and placed it in the middle of the table. Now you can grill all Yakiniku (Grilled meat) you want. First, the first highball. Then the horumon came out. Unfortunately, there was no sauce for the yakiniku, so you have to eat it as it is. It's seasoned, so it's fine unless you like strong flavors. Here's the second highball. Anyway, I drank at a high pace, but this started to have an effect later. The snacks came out. First, the "pounded cucumber", which was a great choice. The chilled cucumber had a good texture and was filling. This was a good fighting force until the end. And then the "Chinese chive kimchi". It's not as filling as the cucumber. I should have ordered something else. Now, the main Yakiniku (Grilled meat). Since I'm Yakiniku (Grilled meat) alone, I grill it at my own pace. The quality of the meat is decent, so it's pretty good. This is my third highball. They're drinking at a good pace. The seat behind me seems to be a group of high school boys, and this seems to be an all-you-can-eat course. It seems that high school students these days love Yakiniku (Grilled meat). This is my second round of Yakiniku (Grilled meat). There's a surprisingly large amount, so this is enough for me. I'm on my fourth glass. I think I can go on and on. At this point, I noticed that rice hadn't been served, and when I told them, it was brought out right away. I need to keep some rice in my stomach or I'll get drunk. For my fifth glass, I had a lemon sour. Changing the alcohol changes my mood. However, I realized that a highball was better, so I went back to my original drink for the sixth glass. The lemon sour is a little sweet. For the seventh glass, I also had a highball. Time was running out. last order is at 45 minutes, so it's almost time. So I drank the last in one go and entered my eighth loss. This final rush will pay off later. I happily drank eight cups in an hour and finished my set meal. It was the fastest pace I've had in a while. The bill, including tax, came to 1,078 yen. It was the ultimate 1,000-yen drink. It was the best value for money. However, the price of overdoing it came back to haunt me later. I slept so soundly on the return Shinkansen that I almost missed my stop at Shizuoka Station. Maybe I should have stopped at six cups after all. Thank you for the meal.
