This time for a class reunion, I visited Van Pickle, a restaurant specializing in French cuisine Barbecue and wine. This is a casual restaurant where you can enjoy charcoal grilled food and carefully selected wine. When you step into the store, you are greeted by the warm wood interior and the scent of charcoal. The first thing I saw was Monday Wine Day, a special wine promotion held every Monday. You can enjoy a variety of wines at reasonable prices. On this day, I visited with three friends, so we decided to enjoy the food while trying various wines: bubbles, whites, and reds. First, we started with the simple yet rich charcoal grill. The meat, slowly grilled over charcoal, was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the simple seasoning brought out the quality of the ingredients. The menu items other than charcoal-grilled items such as pate and marinade were also exquisite, and we ordered one dish after another while enjoying the pairing with wine. What was particularly impressive was the charcoal-grilled lamb shoulder loin. The flavor of the meat matched perfectly with the charcoal grilling, and the taste was like no other. Also, all the other meats were delicious. On this day, you can enjoy wine from a carafe and pair it with food to your heart's content. I was surprised at how well it paired with the wine, with each dish emptying the carafe. The bill was a little high because the wine was better than expected, but it was more than worth it. The restaurant has a homely atmosphere with counter seats as the main seats, and is often used by groups of two or small groups, but it was also a fun experience to make a reservation and share a variety of food and wine at a table. Although it is a casual restaurant, you can enjoy authentic French cuisine Barbecue and wine. This is definitely a recommended restaurant for those who want to enjoy meat and wine to their heart's content.
