風薫る5月に限りなく近い6月、新緑が風にそよそよと揺らぎ、通りがきらきらしている。
街路樹をはさんで、両サイドにオープンカフェが2-3軒並んでいる。
昼過ぎ、日が当たらない側の、ペニンシュラのオープンカフェに立ち寄った。
このカフェは、ペニンシュラホテルの東側出口のコンコースにあたり、出口の左右に大きなパラソルをいくつか立てて、テーブルと座り午後地の良さそうな椅子を配している。左手に小さなワゴン車がキッチンで、ここで、ランチボックスや飲み物を提供している。
カフェラテと、スパイシーナッツを貰った。＠800円。
食後のデザート代わりだ。
ホテルの入り口に近いテーブルに座って、通りを眺めつつ、くつろぐ。
ナッツは、夕方のビールのためのつまみに用意しているようだが、カフェラテとの相性も思いのほか良かった。
ランチボックスを食べている人も何組かいる。
今日のメニューは、カレーのようだ。
ほんの20分程度だったが、すっかりくつろぎ、リフレッシュした。
有楽町と日比谷の間の通り、なかなか良い。
