The new "Marunouchi Lounge" has opened at Enoteca Marunouchi! Enjoy fine wine in an adult space.
Marunouchi LOUNGE is a hideaway lounge space created in collaboration with Riedel, a prestigious wine glass manufacturer. There are always more than 10 types of wine by the glass, and you can enjoy hi |
Visited in October 2018. How to enjoy wine. There are various ways for each person. However, the ultimate goal is to pair it with food. I acknowledge that wine is a special drink. Ultimately, it is meant to complement food. However, you need to learn the taste of wine as much as possible. It is difficult to make it a complement. Thankfully. Recently, more and more stores are offering wine tastings. However, most of them are campaign brands of the store. Ideally, try as many famous brands as possible. Or representative brands of the country or region. And types of grapes, etc. Try a variety of them. And famous brands in particular. With the usual Restaurants pairings. It is not at all educational or experiential. That's my personal opinion. Pairings are only for the convenience of the store (clearing out stock). It is one-sided, such as the personal taste of the sommelier. I think wine is something you "choose yourself" and pair with food. That's the kind of drink it is. Well, in that respect, Enoteca can be evaluated. At the main store in Hiroo and Mille in Ginza, for example. Although it is limited. You can always sample representative brands. The same can be said for the Grand Cave at Isetan Shinjuku. The more famous the brand, the more expensive the glass. But you have to drink the wine to get a sense of the flavor. This lounge at Nakadori in Marunouchi is located at the back of the shop, with the lights dimmed. You can enjoy wine in a relaxed atmosphere. It feels more luxurious and authentic than Wine Bar and counters at many enotecas. It is truly a space for adults to get familiar with wine. If you look at the menu, you'll see what I mean. There are a lot of great brands. The Grand Vin is basically 50m. For white, Yquem is 7,000 yen, Batard-Montrachet (Olivier Leflaive) is 4,000 yen. Kistler, McCrea, Chardonnay, etc. For red, Lafite 2015 is 8,500 yen, Latour 2005 is 12,500 yen. And Sassicaia 2015 is 2,000 yen. There are many others, but these are the only brands. They are not easy to drink. So I also prepared a reasonably priced glass of wine (100ml). In the end, I chose the following two types of wine, a white and a red. All of them are winemakers that represent the region, or even the country. However, they are not yet well known in Japan, where brands are the norm. The snacks are mainly Prosciutto, salami, and cheese. Easy to make and go well with wine. They also have pate de campagne and gratin. ○ROERO ARNEIS Giacosa 2016 White 1,200 yen (100ml) Made by Bruno Giacosa, a renowned Barolo and Barbaresco winemaker. A white wine that represents Piedmont. A high-quality taste that combines elegance and richness. ○Cote Rotie, Lalandonne (Rhone) Rene Rostang, Red 2012 2,000 yen (50ml) Alongside Guigal and Chapoutier. The best producer in Côte Rotie. A heavy, deep aroma and a profound style. A sophisticated Rhône red wine with strength and elegance. ● Assorted Prosciutto and salami 1200 yen Parma salami, Milan Prosciutto
