「鉄板」といえば、間違いない、とか、確実な、という意味を持つ俗語です。鉄板＝硬い→堅い、という風にイメージがつながり、お笑いやギャンブルの世界でよく使われる言葉の一つです。
お昼に牛スタミナ焼きセット（税込み１１８０円）をいただきました。各テーブルに鉄板が組み込まれているのですが、牛スタミナ焼きはそれを使わず、調理場で調理した後、小さな黒い鉄板に載せて持って来てくれます。テーブル上の鉄板の外側に空いた少しのスペースに、その黒い鉄板を置くので、何だか窮屈でへんてこな感じ。
でも、お肉はにんにくがきいていておいしい。ご飯も注文の時に大盛りでお願いできます。それにサラダとドリンクがつくので、有楽町駅前という立地を考えると、コスパもそこそこでしょうか。
さて、「鉄板」。一口に鉄板と言っても、鉄分に含まれる炭素の量で硬さが変わってきます。また、厚さによっても、薄いと温まりやすいが冷めやすい、厚いと温まりにくいが冷めにくい、と違いがでてきます。
こちらの黒い鉄板は十分に厚みがあるのですが、持って来た時にはジュワーッという音が聞こえませんでした。あの音が鉄板料理の醍醐味なのに、ちょっと残念でした。
