日比谷シャンテを我がランチ圏にして以来、お隣の東京ミッドタウン日比谷にある飲食店についても時々パトロールをするようになりましたが、こちらはひょっとしてインバウンドの観光客相手なのかと思うほど、日比谷シャンテ以上にやたらと強気な値段を付けたお店が多いなという印象
そんななかで、ここはまあまあかなと目を付けたのが、3階にあって書店の有隣堂が手掛けているらしき「HIBIYA CENTRAL MARKET」内にある「一角」というお店です
同じ＜いっかく＞という名前で言えば、香川県にある「一鶴」はさぬき名物・骨付き鶏の名店だけれど、こちら「一角」もランチでは鶏の唐揚げを看板料理にしているらしい
ついこの間年が明けたばかりと思っていたら、今日は2月最終日で明日から春3月
毎年のことながら、まさに“一月往ぬる”“二月逃げる”という慣用句通りだなと実感しつつ、お昼時になってその「一角」に向かいました
HIBIYA CENTRAL MARKETのエリアに入ってみれば、昔風に造られた理容室などあって、目指す「一角」はその先にあるようです
入口の板書に従ってお店の方の案内を待って入ってみれば、こちらもどこか昭和の酒場を意識したような造りになっていて、店内には屋台のようになった一角もあります
とはいっても、あまりやり過ぎず、現代風の雰囲気を残しているあたりは、ガード下にあって外見だけはやたらと凝ってレトロ風にしているくせに中身はさっぱりな飲食資本の一味と比べるとセンスがいいように感じます
私が案内されたのはビールケースに天板を乗せて用意したような下町酒場風の席
一応卓上のランチメニューは検めますが、私はもともと「鶏の唐揚げとアジフライ定食(1,400円)」というゲッツーメニュー一択だなと心を決めていました
で、ややあってやってきた「鶏の唐揚げとアジフライ定食」
サラダは見た目カラフルでお洒落っぽいけれど、なんだか立体感のないアジフライはもしかして工場出身なのかな
ベジタブルファーストということで、まずはサラダから手を付けてみれば、カレーのような風味を感じる不思議なドレッシングをまとっています
サラダを食べ終わったらいよいよ本題に入りますが、アジフライは案の定可も不可もない、ごく当たり前のどこにでもありそうな味
でも、さすがに看板商品だけあって鶏の唐揚げはジューシーで美味いな
そういえば、案内看板に“パリならビストロ 日比谷なら「一角」”だなんていうフレーズが書いてあったけれど、さすがにそれほどのものではないと思うんですがね(笑)
