今年のゴールデンウイーク前半の３連休最終日
この日のウォーキングのスタートは地下鉄有楽町線の麹町駅ゆえ、有楽町までやって来て、まずはお昼をいただいてからそちらに向かうことにしました
どうせ休日に有楽町でお昼をいただくのなら、平日には行かないお店、または行けないお店がいいなと考えて、思いついたのは高架下にある「あけぼのや」というお蕎麦屋さん
こちら、平日は夜だけの営業のようで、昼営業は土曜日、日曜日と祝日だけだったはず
その休日の昼営業も、おそらく蕎麦前の昼酒がメインなのだろうと見ていましたがね
お蕎麦屋さんらしからぬスタイリッシュな店内に入ってカウンター席に案内された私がオーダーしたのは「カレーつけそば(1,628円)」
「かけそば」が1,298円というのだから、路麺の相場が染みついている私から見るといささか強気すぎる価格設定だと思うけれど、試しにいただくのならやはりこれかなと思っていました
目の前を見れば、面白そうなラベルが貼られた酒瓶たち
こちら、昼でも呑ませる気満々なんだろうなぁ
で、ややあってやってきた「カレーつけそば」はなんだか値段に見合わぬ寂しい姿
そばがふざけて人を馬鹿にしたような分量ではないことだけが救いです
いただいてみれば、そばは上品な味わいだけれど、カレーのつけ汁はどこか本場のカレーに寄せようとしたような、私には余計なことをしてくれちゃっている感じ
うーん
私としては、そばのつけ汁なら、日本風というか、家庭風というか、そういうカレー味の方が好きなんだけれどなぁ
まあ、コストパフォーマンス的にも、味の方向性的にも、私の嗜好には合わないお店だとわかったことが今日の収穫だったということですかね
