Even after a long holiday, once you've gone to work for a day you return to your normal life as if nothing had happened; it's amazing how resilient office workers are. Today at lunchtime I went to a restaurant called "Ciao! WHIPHY" in the basement of the Kokusai Building, and as the name suggests, it is the Italian Cuisine department of "Whiffy" which is located on the same floor and which I visited last weekend during the summer holidays. https://ameblo.jp/captainsolo/entry-12818733160.html In fact, I'm close to exploring the entire restaurant district in the basement of the Kokusai Building, otherwise known as "Kunigiwa", and I've been quite interested in this place, but there is an order to everything, so I thought I would try this place first at "Whiffy". Entering the open space with no walls or doors, I sat down at the seat I was shown to and ordered the "Mentaiko Cream Pasta (1,000 yen)". When it comes to spaghetti pasta, carbonara is the first thing that comes to mind. If they don't have carbonara, I always end up choosing something Japanese-style. I was told that I could get a large portion of pasta for free, so I figured that maybe the default portion was a bit small, and asked for a large portion without hesitation. I was also told that drinks and salads were free to come from the corner over there, so I went straight there... Oh dear, all they had was a pot of what looked like unsweetened tea and a bowl of lettuce. Wow, this is pretty lame. This is just self-service, so I'm not really happy about it. Then, after a while, the "Mentaiko Cream Pasta" arrived, and as expected, even though it was a large portion, the portion was a bit small, and the pasta was thin, so it was different from what I had imagined. When I tried it, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't Italian Cuisine enough to be called pasta, and it wasn't Japanese enough to be called spaghetti, so it felt half-baked. Hmm, this makes me miss the strong, Japanese-style Romespa. (6 points out of 10) https://ameblo.jp/captainsolo/entry-12819257315.html
