伝説のカレー店「夢民」をご存知だろうか？
惜しまれつつも2012年にその歴史に幕を閉じたカレーショップだが、一時期はフランチャイズなどの拡大路線を図る。当時は池袋や新宿へと拡大したが、生き残ったのは汐留店のみ。その後、紆余曲折あったのか、名前は変わっているが、そのルーツは確実に夢民にございます。その証拠に、小さなポットで提供する野菜たっぷりのカレーで、ご飯の上に干し葡萄をちょこんとあしらうという特徴もしっかり踏襲しております。ちなみに、夢民自体も昨年虎ノ門にて復活を遂げております。

ご飯の上にも、ポットの上にもカレーがあるのはなんだか得した気分。チャオカリー名は漢字で“炒伽哩”と表記されますが、まさに野菜を高温で炒めてさっと煮込むことに由来する。キャベツの量がたっぷりで、そのシャキシャキ感は店名にもなったアプローチでこそ。卵か作るコクや大きめのカットのベーコンの存在感も効果的。カレー自体はサラサラしていて適度にスパイシー。創業者は緑黄色野菜をたくさん食べてほしいという想いで作ったそうだが、そのコンセプトもしっかり生きておりました。
