新橋駅から霞が関方向に徒歩数分の四つ角にあるハイボール専門店です。サントリー系ダイナックが運営するお店で、1923という店名は「サントリー山崎蒸溜所」の設立年だとか。
新橋での平日昼飲みの二軒目として16時の開店を待ってこちらに河岸を変えました。ふだんから外で飲むのはほとんどがハイボールだし、6月に利用した東京駅の系列店が良かったのがこちらのお店を選んだ理由です。
16時10分頃の訪問でしたが、50席ほどの店内に先客の姿はまだありません。テーブルも選べましたが、せっかくなので女性のバーテンダーさんがいるカウンター席に着きました。
こちらの店舗は路面店だけに東京駅の駅ナカの店舗よりは広くて落ち着いた雰囲気。BGMは滞在中ずっとビートルズでした。
飲んだものは
・新橋ハイボール(グレンフィディックベース)
・マッカラン12年ダブルカスク
・オーフェントッシャン12年
など4〜5杯。ベースのウィスキーの個性が違う上に、合わせる柑橘系も変えているので飲み飽きることがありません。
ただ、後半はトニックウォーターの糖分が気になって来たので、無糖の炭酸割にできれば良かった気もします。
こちらはテーブルチャージで卓上のナッツ類や乾き物が食べ放題というシステム。ほとんどそれで済ませましたが、それ以外では黒七味のフライドポテトを頂きました。原了郭のだと思いますが、ポテトに意外に合うのは新発見です。
2時間弱滞在して会計は4500円ほど。ハイボール好きの貴兄にはオススメできるお店です。
