新橋駅烏丸口から程近く、新しく出来たタイバル(タイ居酒屋)に行ってみた。
パクチードリンクやらパクチー鍋やら、やたらパクチー推してくる。こういう流行りに乗った店は大体本格とは程遠いのだが、此処は本格メニューもなかなかのよう。
何にしようかメニューを物色していると、若い店長がスペアリブの唐揚げを青菜と炒めたものを推してきたので素直に其れにしてみた。これってメニューにありそうでないよね。中華鍋から火が立ち上るのを確認したから旨いに決まってる。青菜の硬さがやや気になったが、香ばしさあり、シークロームムートードの衣がスープを吸って柔らかくなったところが美味しい。
メインはゲーンキャオワーン。やや甘めの味付けだが、バイマックルーの大葉が入って、サラネーも効いててなかなかいけますよ。本格的なグリーンカレーでした。
厨房には年配のタイ人コックが二人。どおりで旨いはずだ。また伺います。
