以前から夜にお世話になっている老舗の生そば吉田。ここの晩酌セットは1,500円で充実したおつまみセットに生ビール一杯、最後に締めの蕎麦が付いてくるという、サラリーマンの味方の一品。昼には殆ど利用していないのだが、偶々エレベーターで一緒になった同僚が吉田に行くというのでついて行くことにした。
時間は12:00過ぎ。吉田のある大手町ビルディングのレストラン街はどこも混んでいるが、吉田は程々の並び具合で、年季の入ったディスプレイの商品サンプルを眺めているうちに程なく入れた。同僚がカツ丼とミニ蕎麦を頼むというので自分も試してみることに。先ずはせいろ蕎麦からいただく。ピンク味がかった白い更科蕎麦は数十年変わらず慣れ親しんだ味。ネギ・わさびを入れた濃いつゆにさっとつけて喉越しと蕎麦の風味を楽しむ。カツ丼の方は、ボリュームが多く、カツにしっかりつゆの味が染み込んでいるのは好感度高いのだが、昼時対応で作り置きなのか、肉はパサパサで卵はカピカピな感じあり、味の濃さも相まって、途中から七味をたっぷりふりかけて、多少の義務感をもって平らげた。
長年サラリーマンに愛されている店だけあって昼も夜もコスパは良い。今度は夜お邪魔しよう。
