"Gochiton" is a restaurant that specializes in pork soup set meals that are packed with ingredients and are a feast. They have a variety of luxurious pork soup dishes that you can't find anywhere else |
It is located in the restaurant district on the second basement floor of Otemori, which is directly connected to Otemachi Station. As it is Otemachi, most of the stores are closed on weekends, but thankfully this place is open, so it is like an oasis in the desert, a ray of light in the clouds. I had been there before on a weekend and it was a good experience, so I went back this time on a Sunday night just before 6pm. The restaurant was empty at first, but after a while, customers started coming in one after another. I ordered the Gochiton pork soup set meal (869 yen) with raw egg and corned beef (220 yen). For the miso in the pork soup, I chose barley miso or rice miso. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't know the difference, but barley miso is sweeter and milder, and rice miso is saltier. The pork soup comes with a large homemade tofu, 4 or 5 slices of pork belly, and spring onions. This is enough of a side dish. Raw egg on rice and corned beef is an unbeatable combination. I think I'll continue to come in handy on Sunday nights.
