三越前、午前１１時。弁松の前を通りかかる日替わり弁当の看板が出ている。予約無しで買うことが出来る限定弁当と聞かされていたが機会がなく、偶然にもそのタイミングに出会ったので、これはもう買うしか無い。
店内、といっても弁当屋なのでいきなり売り場だが、「お弁当をひとつください」というと、「今日は鮭ですがよろしいですか？」と。700円。
プラの器だがそれは問題ない。
大昔、木挽町辨松を頂いたことがあって、煮物の濃厚な江戸味と全く同じだ。
ここまで甘しょっぱい煮物を家で作ると「醤油と砂糖の入れすぎ！」と断罪されるが、弁松はちがう。
食後、落語「子別れ」を思い出した。「子別れ・上」では大工の熊五郎が弁松の弁当のがんもどきの汁をふんどしに染み込ませてしまうというくだりがある。
