八丁堀で世界各国の料理を提供する面白いお店。
『TRUNK CAFE』
オープンは2018年6月20日。
毎年6月にはスペシャルな周年メニューを提供しています。
昨年の4周年記念は「海宝ちらしカレー」、そして今年の5周年記念メニューは「ひつまぶしうなカレー」。
早速狙って行って参りました。
店名に「CAFE」とあるとおり、広々とした店内が通りからがよく見え入りやすさ抜群。
けれども料理はいわゆる「カフェめし」レベルではなく、好き者が唸るクオリティ。
そのギャップが魅力です。
「TRUNK」というのはもちろん、旅の記号。
世界の料理を出すお店には、トランクを持った海外からのお客さんもいらっしゃっていました。
ガラスの向こう側には世界のワインやビール、そしてスパイスが貯蔵されています。
★【５周年記念メニュー】ひつまぶしうなカレー¥2600
ターメリックで色付けされたジャスミンライスにふんわり贅沢な鰻。
その上に大葉、海苔。
山椒もピリリと効いてなるほど、そもそもうな丼ってスパイス料理だもんなぁ、なんて思っていたのも束の間。
ライスの中には濃厚な鯖キーマが隠れていました。しかも蓮根も用いられ和を感じる旨味重視のチューニング。
これがまた鰻と合うんです。
だって確かに、鰻を釣るのに鯖の切り身を餌にすることだってありますもん。
合うに決まってます。
さらにタマリンドの酸味を抑えたアサリのラッサムをドバっとぶっかけ、旨みの味変！
和を増すとともに印度も増すという日印友好ばんざいなブーストにて、気が付くとすっかり完食の感触。
これは価値ある一皿ですね。
そうそう、お酒だって忘れてはいけません。
世界と日本のお酒が揃っているんですから。
★エストレージャガリシア¥950
スペイン最北部ガリシア州の地ビール。
軽やかで食中酒に良いですね。
★ビアラオラガー¥900
暑い日に最高なラオスのビール。
キリッとスッキリ！！ジャスミン米使用です。
★NORTON RESERVA MALBEC 2020
こちらはアルゼンチンの赤ワイン。
ギュッとタンニンが効いて濃密です。
アルゼンチンは国家の破産状態が続いているため関税諸々高くチリワインに押され気味ですが、面白いのが多いですよね。
★情け嶋（麦）¥650
こちらは東京の焼酎・・・といっても島しょ部、八丈島の島焼酎。
芋のイメージが強い情け嶋ですが、麦もあったのですね。初めて飲みました。
あらためて、「あれ？ここカフェだったっけ？」と思うほどの料理と酒と居心地。
八丁堀には『WACCA』も『バンゲラズスパイスビストロ＆カフェ』もある。
スパイス呑みの梯子にはちょうど良いエリアなのです。
