東京メトロ日比谷線八丁堀駅から徒歩数分のところにあるインド料理屋さん。
カジュアルな飲み屋さんといった感じでしょうか。
サクッとスパイス注入、飲みたくて伺いました。
平日の晩、タイミングが良かったのか、一組しかお客さんがいなくてほぼ貸し切りゆったり過ごさせていただきました。
2人テーブルが数テーブル、カウンター席が数席、グループ席が一つ、視界内に全て収まるコンパクトなお店でした。
オーダーはA3サイズぐらいのラミネートされた1枚。
軽いつまみ、アラカルトな一品料理、メインディッシュにデザートまで色々揃っていて迷います。
どれを頼もうか本当に迷ってしまいました。
えいや、と思って2品選び、寒い日だったのでホットカクテルを頂きました。
【スパイシーベジ団子】
これ正解。
選んで良かった。
びっくりするほどモチモチの団子でした。
お餅ほどしつこい感じもしないけど、小麦粉ではこのモチモチは出せないんじゃないか？
どうやって作っているのか本当に知りたいと思うほどにモチモチな所に辛味のあるスパイスで調理されお酒が進みます。
謎が知りたかったので店員さんに聞いてみると、
ほとんど豆とのこと。
もちろんつなぎはつかっているけどもと。
現地の人はベジタリアンもいて肉がないがゆえに工夫された料理が発展するのだとか。
すごいもんだ。
【羊モツのマサラ】
これは正統派というべきか。
ザラザラした食感のモツにガッツリスパイスが効いて臭みなど気にならず、
かといってスパイス効きすぎて味がよくわからなくなることもなく、
モツらしいコリコリした食感といかにも「マサラ」的なスパイシーさ、煮込んだ旨味汁を堪能しました。
ふかふかもっちりなパンがそこに付いて、
それで水分を拭き取りながら食べてうまかったです。
このパンも良いな。
【バンゲラズオリジナルスパイスドカクテル】
オリジナルなカクテルということですが、
ガッツリスターアニスが入っていてそれが全体の印象を決めていました。
お湯割り、生姜、ジャムなのか蜂蜜なのか、甘さも加わって飲みやすくしていました。
で、ガラムマサラ的な馴染みのある香りもしたりして。
酔うこともないですが、
飲んだことのない味のカクテル楽しかったです。
なかなか面白いお店でした。
