東京メトロ日比谷線人形町駅から徒歩5分。都営地下鉄新宿線浜町駅から徒歩6分。
人形町駅からだと、甘粕横丁を明治座方面に進み日清紡本社のビルの先を左に。100ｍぐらい先の左側に店がある。
こちらは2000年に開業のハンバーガーの店。オーストラリアでハンバーガーを学んだ店主が創業し、現在のプレミアムバーガー隆盛の基礎を作ったといっても過言ではない。こちら出身の方のハンバーガー店も数多くある。
ずいぶん昔に新富町の支店にはお伺いしたことがあるが、こちらは初めて。
20:15頃訪問。先客後客0名。テイクアウトで3名来店。うーん、閉店時間近くとはいえ、こんなに空いてたっけ？年末＆クリスマスシーズンなので皆さん忘年会とかなのかしら？
数多くのメニューから、エッグチーズバーガーとルートビアをオーダー。ドリンクにルートビアがあるのはとても嬉しい。クリスマスシーズンだからか、フライドチキンを1ピースで追加オーダーできると言われたが、食べ切れないと困るので丁重にお断りした。
10分程でエッグチーズバーガーが提供される。
ハンバーガーは少し甘みのあるバンズの間に折り畳まれたレタス、オニオン、トマト、とろっと溶けたチーズの乗ったビーフパテ、フライドエッグとバーベキューソース。付け合わせのオニオンリング、フライドポテト、ディルピクルス。
ナイフでバンズごと半分に切り分けて、ひとつずつバーガー袋に入れて頂く。
バンズはパリっと良く焼かれていて、肉汁をしっかりと受け止めてくれる。バーベキューソースは少し甘口で濃い目だが、フライドエッグがその辺を上手く緩和してくれている。マスタードを上から垂らして、酸味と辛味を加えて味を調整。
オニオンリングとフライドポテトには、トマトケチャップとマスタードを混ぜたものを付けて頂く。
ルートビアは薬臭いという人もいるが、個人的にはハンバーガーにはいちばん合った飲み物だと思う。揮発っぽい後味が口をさっぱりとさせてくれるし。
全てをきれいに頂いてご馳走さま。付け合わせも含めて、まあまあのボリューム。これにフライドチキンを付けたらちょっと多過ぎ。
プレミアムバーガーの王道というか、老舗の貫禄というか。しっかりととした美味しさを楽しむことが出来た。
ハンバーガー以外にもサンドイッチやホットドッグもあるので、次回はこの辺りを試してみたい。あと、チリエッグフライというフライドポテトにチリとフライドエッグが乗っているのがあるんだけど、これ美味しそうなので食べてみたいかも。
