The second floor is Kanmi-Dokoro (cafe featuring Japanese-style sweets), the first floor is a tea shop, and there is a Soft serve ice cream stand in the back alley. The alley is filled with smoke from roasted hojicha tea. It doesn't smell as good as the one in front of Rakuzan in Kagurazaka, but it has a nice atmosphere. ■Order: Hojicha Soft serve ice cream 450 yen. The texture is surprisingly smooth. I was told to be careful because it melts quickly, but it really does melt quickly. It was a delicious Soft serve ice cream. ■Miscellaneous notes: This tea shop was founded in 1914. It seems that it was the third generation that started specializing in hojicha tea. Morinoen did not have its own tea fields, so they started specializing in hojicha tea to differentiate themselves from other stores. It is said that various hojicha Sweets also started to be developed around this time.
