週に一度は中華かなという気分で迎えたお昼時
小伝馬町方面に向かい、そういえばこちら方面にもネイティブ系当選確実な外観と雰囲気ながら、行先リストに入れっぱなしになっている中華ジャンルのお店があったよなと思い出してやってきたのは、“中華式居酒屋”と名乗る「萬来仙閣」というお店です
いざ入ってみる気になってよく見てみれば、お店は地下にあるらしい
そうだとわかって、私が階段に踏み込むと、どこかにセンサーが仕掛けられているらしく、地下の店内にチャイムが鳴っているのが聞えてきますから、なにやら不法侵入をしようとしてしくじった曲者のような気分になります
入ってみれば、居酒屋をテーブルまでまるごと居抜きで使っているような雰囲気の店内
さらに見れば、貼られている掲示物まで、前のお店のものを剥がさずにそのままにしているのかなと思うほど、居酒屋ムードが濃厚で、なるほど、これはたしかに“中華式居酒屋”だなと納得します
もともとお店の前のボードを見た時点で、割と珍しいなと思った「水餃子と半チャーハンセット(750円)」をいただいてみようかというつもりだった私は、席に着くなりそれをオーダー
とはいえ、お店の女性2人が中国語でやり取りをしているところからして、ここもやはりネイティブ系中華とみて間違いないようだから、チャーハンにはあまり期待はできないんですがね
で、ややあってやってきた「水餃子と半チャーハンセット」
みれば、チャーハンは、日式町中華のように形を取っているけれど、いただいてみれば、案の定、どこかピラフっぽいネイティブ系中華伝統の味わい
普段なら、作ってくれた人へのリスペクトもあって、めったに味変はしない私にして、これは黒胡椒を振って、少しでもチャーハンらしさに近づけたくなります
一方、水餃子の方は、可もなければ不可もなしで、美味しくいただけるけれど、さほど印象に残るものではないな
うーん
小伝馬町方面に足を向けてみても、この界隈、なかなかこれという中華屋さんには出会えないものだな
