１階中華、２階インド、地下タイという多国籍飲食ビル。
店頭で売られるガバオごはんは500円で人気があるようだ。売れては地下にまた取りに走っている。
階段を下りてかろうじて空いていた席に座ってカオマンガイの単品730円（税込）をオーダー。
店は元々昭和的喫茶店の居抜きのようだ。当然厨房は極小。その中でタイ人のおとうさん、おかあさんは八面六臂の働き。加えて地上でガバオ弁当を売っているおねえさんも時折下りてきてご飯詰めを手伝う。出来れば地上に運ぶ。大変な大回転だ。
カオマンガイは少々待ちます。オーダーは店内、弁当ともガバオライスが圧倒的に多い。大盛は無料だが結構な盛りっぷりである。
ようやく到着しチキンをひとかぶり。鶏肉の味付け、茹で具合も鶏の肉感を感じられて丁度良い。
ニンニク、生姜のタレがついているが付けなくともご飯にも鶏スープ味がついているので美味しく頂ける。
ご飯は形状は長粒米なれどもっちり感があって美味しい。
パクチーは少なめだが載っている。
単品で730円は若干高い気もするが、ご飯大盛無料なのでそれで帳尻が合うはず。
シンプルな料理なだけに丁寧に作っていることがストレートに美味しさに繋がる。満足の本場カオマンガイだった。
次回はグリーンカレーかガバオライスにチャレンジしよう。
