以前よく行っていた田町の天丼てんやが閉店して以来、長らくご無沙汰していたが、最近のこの手のお店と同様、巨大なタッチスクリーンの付いた券売機で食感を購入、番号を呼ばれるのを待つセルフサービス方式。
昔は大勢いた従業員も、今はミニマム。皆さんどうしていろのだろうと思いつつ、券売機メーカーには人手不足も神風。
昔の通り、季節の天丼や豪華な天丼には目もくれず、基本の天丼に天ぷらを追加するスタイルで今日も攻めるわけだが、ゆっくり席でメニューを見ながらではなく、タッチスクリーンで色々選択しなければならず、中々難しい。そんな関門をかいくぐり、無事食券を購入して入店。
お好きな席へどうぞと招かれ、あとは番号が呼ばれるのを待つだけ。お茶も給茶機からと少し味気ない。
天丼は味噌汁付きで560円、海老、いか、きす、かぼちゃ、インゲンの天ぷらが載っているが、これにいか天、さつまいも天を追加すると、ご飯も見えにくく、かなり贅沢な感じとなるので、大体このパターンにする。
丼の中には、揚げたて天ぷらがてんこ盛り。シズル感のある見た目は、被写体として美しい。以前と比べると、いか天は薄くなり、さつまいも天は小さくなっていたが、今時このお値段で、こんな天丼が食べられるなんて、幸せ過ぎて怖くなる。
天丼の敷居を下げた天丼てんや、今でもこの存在は輝きを放っている。
